The Heart of a Mouse

Rate this book
The life of a mouse is meant to be small and unseen, or so George has always been told. After receiving exactly ten pieces of cheese on his tenth birthday, George decides to go in search of something more.

Who said mice are supposed to live in the shadows? And who needs all that calcium anyway? Follow his adventures into the woods, as this brave young mouse faces his fears, using his courage and heart to guide him.

As George's eleventh birthday approaches, will he find what he is looking for? Or is he destined for another birthday filled with cheese?

The book is suitable for ages 6-8 years and written for children with a sense of adventure, who are inquisitive and are aware there is more possible than what meets the eye.

Beautifully illustrated by Sophie Corrigan, each chapter contains a black and white spot illustration to highlight key characters and scenes.

With themes of friendship, and family, the book encourages readers to work through their fears, and find the courage within themselves to follow their dreams. The story also touches on trying new food and the role of physical activity, which may provide further discussion points for readers.
