A gentle heart warming read 4*
Elijah (Eli) had a lonely childhood without family or love and grew up knowing how to project a facade; as a adult he is still lonely, protecting himself from hurt with superficial relationships that don't go deep. Caroline (Caro) by contrast has a loving relationship with her family and plenty of friends; the baby of the family she suffered betrayal and loss three years previously and has focused on her fledgling cake business Sweet Escapes ever since. This is a sweet story of them finding love and a new family with each other.

I love my trips to Cypress Corners! This book is about Eli, a guy who grew up in the foster system, and Caro, a woman who is hiding a very hurtful past. The two come together hesitantly at first, but the fireworks soon take over. Eli is so sweet to Caro! She owns her own bakery and has those awful baker hours. Eli is always understanding and encouraging in getting her to sleep at a reasonable hour. He's warm, supportive and sexy without being demanding.
Everyone knows that Caro lost her fiance in a car crash, but no one knows the most painful part of that time for her. If she trusts Eli enough to tell him, could it lead to a future for them? Could Eli finally get the family he deserves?
I listened to the audio version of this narrated by Wendy Rich Stetson. The narration was easy to listen to and enjoyable! I'm ready for my next trip to Cypress Corners!

This is one of those nice and easy listens on a relaxing day. There aren't a lot of big highs and deep lows, but it has a little depth. And, I really enjoyed the characters in this one. I've listened to every book in this series and enjoyed them. There's not a lot of angst, or drama. But, it's like taking a nice leisure stroll. This one was a bit different from the others in certain ways which I really liked. As much as I loved the "love shack" or tent cabin, I like the newer dynamics in this one.
Wendy Rich Stetson did her usual spot on job. Always a pleasure to listen to her narrate anything.

Dreaming of Eli is a light, fun and sweet read. I love a good series and cypress looks like the place to get lost in. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

This is full of adventure, witty banter and close friends and family. Perfectly paced pulling you in from the start. Eli and Caro were the perfect match to carry this story. It is about family and friends and how they are there for each other in good and bad times.
