Find out what happens in part one of His Dirty Kim's Story!
This book started with a lot of potential, but the ending was really disappointing. The early tension around Kim and Lloyd made it feel like the story was building toward a big dramatic payoff. Instead, Lloyd’s storyline just fades away and his last appearance feels completely out of character.
Kim ending up with Santana also felt rushed and too convenient. What started as a holiday fling suddenly turns into marriage and a baby, with almost no real conflict. After Arya’s aggression, the story could have ended with a strong resolution, but the final parts feel flat and uneventful.
Overall, a promising start that lost its momentum by the end.
I committed to this book enough to finish it because it has the bones for a good read, but there were a few things that gave me pause - grammatical errors, editing mistakes, and I also kept trying to figure out what year this story took place because people don’t really dance in clubs anymore (especially men) and some of the words that the characters used were quite outdated as well not very regional for natives of Black ATL. I like Kim, but probably not enough to be interested in reading the continuation of the story into the next books.
I thought this was a good story. I also thought Kim & Devon were going to have a good something, but that fool changed quick. He thought she was turning him on and teasing him and he misunderstood her thinking that he would finally get laid. Oh no boo that was not happening and I thought she did really good to try and get to know him before anything happens between the two of them. Now Lloyd is wanting to get her back. I have to check the nest book out.
This book was good in every sense. Kim had her fair share of bad guys and I can definitely relate to what she went through. Both with the bad guys and what she experienced for her ex, the sex was just right. Nothing rushed and it was highly sensual. If you love urban stories, this is the book for you. Will definitely be reading book 2
I'm getting hooked already and it's only the first book!! I can't wait to start the next one. Definitely a good read... little typo errors but it's a good book.
I am totally here for this story, the characters were relatable and it felt like that little clique we all had coming up that blossomed into a proper sisterhood. Mia does a good job with wordplay incorporating slang with proper English which made the scenes mentally appealing. Kim (the main character)and her friends were really trying to have fun while hoping to meet the one. Kim was really into Devon who presented himself to be a great gentleman at first but later showed that he was nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing. Lloyd is back on the scene for a high school thing and it feels nice to Kim; anxious to see where this is headed. However, I have not decided to purchase the sequence. Overall, I rated this at a five due to the storyline, characters, and overall flow. This is a great read which will leave you not wanting to put your kindle down.
That damn Devon was bipolar! He had everybody fooled. I thought him and Kim was going to make it as a couple. Maybe Kim and Lloyd will make it this time around.
