Sticks and Stones

Rate this book
Sticks and stones will break your bones, but a name can forever curse you. Eight years ago Britain Montgomery disappeared. She left behind a blood soaked room, a beautiful, broken brother, and me; her best friend. The only witness to her murder. But when I told the world the truth, they said I was seeing things. They said I was in shock. They said I was crazy. And as the years went on, they didn't say much of anything. People avoid me like the plague now. I'm a curse in this town, and I can't wait to get out. To get free of this nightmare that refuses to end. But just as the light at the end of the tunnel starts to appear, so does Jason; Brit's brother. He wants answers, whether I'm willing to give them or not, and together we uncover something darker than either of us ever could have imagined. Something old and angry. Something evil. And it knows my name. Sticks and Stones is a YA Horror Novella, the first in a series.

Tracey Ward does not disappoint! Anyone looking for a scary, fun, and intriguing horror novella give this one a read. It's a cool spin on the "Bloody Mary" game kids play, where you stand in a dark bathroom, stare in the mirror, and repeat "Bloody Mary" three times... only this time, something happens.

I loved this story!
We've all heard of Bloody Mary (well if you haven't I'm sorry about your childhood).
I mean what's supposed to happen is bad enough but what if it goes horribly wrong?
I wish it was longer but there's supposed to be a sequel next Halloween. But will it have the same characters? I really really hope so. I don't want that to be how their story ends.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Omg Tracey *shakes fist*! I was so hyped for this and it so did not disappoint!!!! I mean just stop reading this right now and download/buy this book! It's perfect for October and Halloween or anytime you want to be completely freaked out while reading for a few hours. I didn't look in mirrors really to begin with, but they're a big NOPE! for me now. Not to mention it's currently a monsoon outside so I'm just like 'yup! this is my life now'. Seriously though right from the beginning you're sucked in with a big wtf that is just ridiculously perfect and it just goes from there. AND THE END!!! Oh man if only I recorded myself so you could all see my reaction! And I'm just sitting here like I can't wait another year. I need more!!!! Definitely a VERY strong contender for favorite Tracey Ward book and everyone should definitely read her other books while we all not so patiently wait for more sticks and stones!

Holy hell. That was a great novella! So creepy. And that ending! The characters were well written and I loved the dialogue and dynamic the main character had with Jason and her bestie Lynn. There's not much I can say without being spoilery but it's an interesting take on a classic urban legend that I'm sure most everyone has done at least once.
Sticks and Stones is a super quick read. You'll be so wrapped up in what's happening, the end will come before you know it. Can't wait for the next installment!!! Hopefully we'll get lucky and it'll be here sooner than Halloween 2017. (Fingers crossed!!)

I did not expect myself to like this, and I ended up LOVING IT.
I rarely like paranormal or fantasy books, but this... this.... I have no words.

Tracey Ward are you capable of writing bad books?
Wow just wow.

This is one of the few to actually give me chills. I'm glad that I read it during the day. A new freakish twist to "Bloody Mary."The only disappointment was that it ended too soon.

Whoa...my poor little heart. This was a super creepy, super interesting novella. It totally left me wanting more. Plus now I'm terrified about having played " Bloody Mary" as a child. Well done.
