Bought this because I thought that it would be a good idea to turn it into an online Wikipedia type thing. I was right. I was so right that the publishers should have done that instead of printing it.
In its present form it is an almost useful resource to use when you have lost all connection to the internet. In a better form it would be a great little app with clickable links to other parts of the book, tours 8f the regions around particular locatios in the city, maps of the locations of the buildings, and pictures of the various sites for easy identification.
There's a lot of history in York, but this is not a good way to find out about it.
Read it if you're stuck indoors at the end of this world and this is the only thing left unread on your bookshelf. Avoid it if you manage to find a dog-eared copy of a Mills & Boon down the back of the sofa instead.
