Full disclosure, I read this in June and July of 2025. Since then, this novel has been re-branded as Sacred Valley: Betrayal.
With that, some of the old "Silent Hill" specific things are gone. Now set in Sacred Valley, you can still tell where the old Silent Hill moments were. The books definitely resonate more for those who are gamers, there are game elements still present in the novel. The author took time to go through and make the creatures his own while still feeling very at home in the Silent Hill style.
You also get a surprise in the back of the book, but I won't say anymore than that.
