I recieved this book for free in order for an honest review.
So let me begin... I loved it. I loved the drama, I loved the pain, I loved the heartache and I loved the ending and everything in between. This was definitely my type of book.
The story introduces to us Vanessa and Jake. A traumatic event in their past tore them apart, and Vanessa left West Lake to forget about it all. Four years later, Vanessa comes back to town and old feelings, good and bad are brought up and confronted. Jake also has some unfinished business with Vanessa however there is so much baggage between them, there is a constant push and pull as to whether or not they will actually get there. Not to mention, a few villains lurking who will try anything to keep them apart and keep the feud brewing.
The Good: -I loved the main characters, as well as the secondary characters. They were all very real and I could easily imagine them and connect with them. -I loved the emotional angst between the two main characters but also how this affects everyone else too. I loved that it's not only about a few characters but everyone is melded into it. -The story is so heartfelt and heartbreaking but so sweet and realistic. There's nothing over the top about it. The struggle is real and we experience that throughout the book. There is no easy happily ever after and not everything is sunshine and rainbows. It's gritty, it's hard, it's emotional and it's wonderful. -The authors writing was easy to understand and follow and I had no problem following the story. -I absolutely love dual narrative and it worked perfectly in this book.
Bad: -Lots of spelling and grammar errors as well as lack of punctuation but small details really lol.
If you love a good book, that tugs on the heartstrings and you love a good emotional journey and that feeling of relief at the end. This is definitely the book for you.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I loved it. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It was an emotional story. I loved Vanessa and Jake's story. This is one of the best second chance love stories I have read. I also loved all the other characters in this story and can't wait to read more from this series and find out how the other characters are moving on. I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
This was a good second chance love story. The book flowed very well but it was very predictable. I also just couldn't get past all of the misspellings and typing errors. I was giving a copy of this book for my review. I'm also not sure i was given the unedited version.
