Turtles, Toads and Frogs

Rate this book
Did you know... Although turtles have no teeth, the edges of their jaws are sharp? Frogs and toads shed their skin every week or so?

Turtles, Toads, and Frogs, like the other books in the Golden Junior Guide series, is a terrific introductory nature guide for children. It covers just the right amount of information for children in preschool and the early elementary grades to interest them without overwhelming them. The species covered are generally those which are commonly seen throughout the US and Southern Canada - some of which the children are likely to be familiar with already, and some of which will be new to them.

This book is a great tool to teach kids about some reptiles and amphibians. It is also a good book to introduce students from elementary level to ecosystems and the life cycles. The pictures are realistic but not threatening for small kids. The book has questions in some pages to guide the reader about some facts. I enjoy this book because it was easy to follow and with accurate information.

Great for what it is. A quick 20 minute (if that) read. It’s a children’s book, but gave surprisingly good information. Many “fun facts” that I didn’t know.
