Mary Katherine Gordon is a Scottish writer of children's books. She is the adopted daughter of David George Ian Alexander Gordon, 4th Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair and Beatrice Mary June Boissier. She married Simon Piers Welfare, son of Kenneth William Welfare, on 3 August 1968. On 30 April 2004 her name was legally changed to Lady Mary Katherine Welfare after a Royal Warrant was issued giving courtesy titles to adopted children.
