Pennsylvania Curiosities

Rate this book
The Liberty Bell, Gettysburg, and Independence Hall may stand out as prominent Pennsylvania features, but the Keystone State is also home to bizarre places, personalities, events, and phenomena.  These unique and quirky aspects are humorously displayed in  Pennsylvania Curiosities, a cross between a wacky news gazette, an almanac, and a humorous travel guide.

While this book was an interesting read, it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I thought the book would be more about curious places in Pennsylvania, and less about the curious history of Pennsylvania. While there were a number of places that can be visit and sites to be seen, many of the topics discussed in the book were focused on the history of certain areas. I have to admit that I feel like I know very little about PA history, so this was an interesting read. I’ve definitely added a few things to my “want to see” list.

Just a note to anyone considering reading this- I read the 4th edition and it’s a bit outdated. I’m not sure if there’s a newer version, but make sure you grab the newest one!
