Nick Caine #8

Mountains of the Moon

Rate this book
Book #8 in the bestselling Nick Caine adventure series!

For Nick Caine and Ishi Cuyamel, working for “Project Golden Eye” is proving more taxing than they ever dreamed it would be.

Paying back the enormous debt they incurred (by procuring priceless relics from illegal archaeological expeditions throughout the world) is beginning to seem less and less possible. Especially, given the endless “special projects” assigned to the pair as a means to avoid spending the remainder of their earthly days behind bars…

After the beautiful Colombian guide, Catalina Galvan, usurped the Map of the Masons from under his nose and delivered it to Agent William Spence without his foreknowledge, Nick feels betrayed. He is reluctant to have anything to do with her ever again—despite their heated love affair while risking their lives to find the ancient Masons’ map. Yet once again, he and Ishi are paired with ‘Cat’ and her equally alluring sister, Natalia, in another dangerous assignment.

This time, the search is for something far older, located in a region of the world where Nick and Ishi are Northern Africa. The targeted item seems incredibly daunting, if not impossible, to obtain…the legendary Spring of Life.

The perilous journey to find the sacred spring—rumored to be the place where all Life on Earth originated—takes the unlikely foursome beyond the headwaters of the mighty Nile River, and into a meagerly explored mountain range located between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Has Nick and Ishi’s good fortune finally run out? It all depends on what awaits them and their seductive guides in the Mountains of the Moon…

Lots of action!

This book is fast-paced and satisfying. I love Nick Caine and Ishi. They make the improbable believable. I will be reading the series.

I received a digital ARC version of the story in exchange for an honest review.

I love when a book combines action, adventure, and bits of historical facts-and this one does! There is also a touch of the supernatural. I don't want to give direct spoilers, but I especially loved the "significance of the spokes". You'll have to read it yourself to find out what that means! I've only read one Nick Caine novel, but now I want to read more, especially the stories regarding Marie DaVinci. I would recommend this book.
