A Honeywilde Romance #2

A Date with Desire

Rate this book
Nestled in the lush green mountains of North Carolina, the Honeywilde Inn will be a romantic’s dream getaway, if only the Bradley siblings can keep it running. It will take a combination of hard work, good luck, and the kind of love that dreams are made of . . .

Devlin Bradley knows Honeywilde Inn’s no-dating-guests policy is a sensible one, but when has he ever followed the rules? Sure, he’s been working to change his reputation as the rebellious Bradley brother and town troublemaker, but the captivating new guest from Atlanta is worth risking his family’s disapproval.

Anna Martel is going to relax—even if it kills her. The alternative is a spectacular breakdown, according to her therapist, and that’s something Anna would like to avoid. Taming her workaholic ways isn’t going to be easy with nothing to focus on, though—until she meets devilishly attractive Devlin. His slow, sexy smile is a temptation she can’t resist, even if she knows he’s nothing more than a distraction. Or is he?

I loved this second book in the Honeywilde series. Each of these can be read on their own but treat yourself and read both. This is Devlin's story. Growing up in a small town has it's drawbacks especially when you were the town troublemaker and people have long memories. Devlin's trying to change his image so breaking his brother's number one rule for the Inn, no messing around with the guests, probably isn't the smartest thing he could do. The temptation of Anna Martel is just too much take though. Anna is at Honeywilde trying to relax and let her workaholic ways go for a while. Having a little fun while she's there would be relaxing. Right??

This is a super sexy, fun read that you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

A Date with Desire is the second book in the Honeywilde Inn trilogy (?) by Heather McGovern. I read the first book in this series, Roarke's story, but I don't think it's a necessity to enjoy this book. I do recommend going back to read A Moment of Bliss because it is a great introduction to the Bradley siblings' story.

This second book is Devlin's story. Devlin is appropriately named because he has a little devil in him despite the fact he has been trying to change his ways. Then Anna shows up at the Inn for some R&R. The last thing she is looking for is a troublemaker like Devlin, but he's pretty hard to resist. Their love story makes for a really fun read and I dare anyone not to fall for Devlin. He is exactly what Anna needs, but it takes a little while for her to realize it. I recommend this story to any romance reader and I can't wait for our next trip back to the Honeywilde!

After a nasty incident Anna's therapist prescribes a timeout. Anna needs to go on holiday and she chooses to spend it in Honeywilde, a beautiful mountain resort. It should be the perfect place for her to recharge her batteries. Devlin owns and runs the business together with his siblings. He's the local bad boy, but he's trying to improve his image by being more responsible. He isn't supposed to date guests, but when he sees Anna he knows that's going to be difficult. Anna doesn't know how to relax and Devlin wants to show her what it's like to actually be on holiday.

Devlin wants to bring a famous summer festival back to his hometown, but he can't do it alone and his brother doesn't want to back him up. With Anna's help he might have a chance to show his brother what he's capable of and to prove that he can make a difference. While they are working and having a good time together Anna and Devlin become closer, but they know their time together won't last forever. Anna has to go home again after two and a half weeks. Will a brief holiday romance be enough for them?

A Date with Desire is an amazing romantic story about two people who weren't happy at home when they were younger. Both Devlin and Anna deserved so much more than they received and they're still struggling with the lasting effects. They confide in each other and form a very special bond, which was something I really loved about this story. Their emotional connection is deep while there's also chemistry and there are plenty of sparks, so they click on many different levels. Anna is reserved while Devlin is impulsive and they meet each other in the middle, so they both benefit from each other's strengths. Heather McGovern describes their love in a pure and honest way, which is heartwarming.

Anna and Devlin are made for each other. A Date with Desire is a love at first sight story, which is something I love to read about, so I liked this book from the start. Heather McGovern has chosen a stunning setting for her series and I enjoyed reading her detailed descriptions of the resort and the mountains. The surroundings are a vital part of the resort and Devlin and his siblings try to provide the ideal mountain vacation. He has an interesting family and it was fun to read about everyone's tasks at work and their personal lives. There are struggles, but there's also plenty of affection, which I found endearing. While they're at the same place at the same time Devlin keeps Anna away from his siblings and I couldn't wait to find out how they would react when they'd find out. Heather McGovern makes it easy to picture both sides of Devlin's world while slowly brining them together. I loved the way she handles everything and think A Date with Desire is a fantastic complete story.

If you are looking for a delightful romantic story set in the picturesque mountain region of North Carolina, then look no further, A Date with Desire is the book for you!

A Date with Desire is a thoroughly entertaining romantic tale that will easily keep the reader turning the pages. The story follows the unexpected romantic meeting of Anna Martel and Devin Bradley, when Anna goes on a much needed vacation to the Honeywilde Inn, a North Carolina mountain resort owned by the Bradley family. Anna is a workaholic from Atlanta who came to the resort for rest and relaxation, but when she meets the devilish Devin, she can't resist the temptation, while Devin can't help but break the Bradley family rule of no dating the guests!

I really enjoyed following Devin and Anna's story. I couldn't help but enjoy watching the chemistry that developed between them, especially when it is a love at first sight kind of romance. They are simply made for each other, and it you can't but cheer for them as their relationship develops into love.

A Date with Desire is a fast paced and fun romance story that has engaging characters, humorous interactions and witty dialogue, troubled pasts and buried secrets that come to the surface, drama, and a sweet romance. The author provides the reader with a rich description of the beautiful mountain resort setting in North Carolina, that will make them long to visit the sights and sounds of this picturesque locale for themselves.

A Date with Desire is an enjoyable and lighthearted romance story that will leave a smile on your face.

A Date with Desire is the second book in the Honeywilde Romance series, and can be a stand alone read.

This is the second book in the series and I easily read it as a standalone. However, I think reading them in order would fill in a couple of questions I had.

The Bradley brothers, Roark, Devlin and Trevor, along with their adopted sister, Sophie, own and run the Honeywilde Inn and Resort.

Anna Martel is an Ad Agency executive who is burnt out and depressed. She lost her dad about 7 months ago and is missing him greatly. They were close and he was her biggest supporter. She’s booked 2 ½ weeks at the Inn to do some soul searching, grieve her dad and find her spunk again.

Devlin was the troublemaker of the siblings growing up. He’s changed and trying to prove himself to his siblings and the townspeople he wronged.

Devlin and Anna are immediately attracted to each other. Devlin knows she’s a guest and off limits, but there’s just something about her that draws him in. Anna sees the flirty, ruggedly handsome man eyeballing her, but she just doesn’t have the energy to deal with him.

Devlin is exactly what Anna needs. He is attentive, romantic and a great listener. They help heal each other. The more time they spend together, the more they both realize they make a great team.

I will be going back for the first book in the series and look forward to Sophie and Wright’s story! And I wonder where Trevor keeps disappearing to?

A date with desire is another great book from Honeywild Inn. In this one Devlin falls for their guest beautiful Anna. Of course is against the all rules but attraction between them is too strong. They are both haunted by their dark secret. Delvin’s very shameless past and Anna’s breakdown. But they find comfort in each other trust and support. When all cards are revealed fear is the one who breaks them. I really loved both of them. They are well develop and likable. I loved that they know what they want and just go for it. I loved their insta-love, showed understanding and how they supported each other. Their attraction and what comes next is hot dirty and makes your pannty melts.
Great read. Recommended.

The Bradley brothers run an inn called the Honeywilde Inn and Resort. Anna has come to the inn to get away from her stressful job in the city. What she hasn't planned is meeting the handsome and sexy Bradley brother, Devlin, who is not afraid to break all the rules that his brothers have made for him for him to follow. This was a fun romance story that is the second book in the Honeywilde Romance series. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary romance.

A Date with Desire by Heather McGovern will be available December 20, 2016 by Kensington Publishing Corp. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

Where can I find Honeywilde and those Bradley brothers? Sign me up for my next vacation there! This was an enjoyable read that I didn't want to put down as I wanted to know what would Anna do next and if Devlin would follow his brother's rule at the inn. Even though this is a book in a series, I read as a standalone and did not have any issues following the story. This would be a great read on a weekend getaway in the mountains.

I received a free reading copy of this book and voluntarily read it.

I received a review copy
This was a book that caught my attention right away. I liked getting the dual POVs from Devlin and Anna, and how mysterious they both were! The attraction between them started off with a bang, and I had a great time reading how they tried to resist temptation throughout the story. The setting was also so intriguing, and with great writing, it was easy to imagine myself at the Honeywilde Inn. Such a good romance!

I rarely read romance genre but this one was quite engaging for me with good characters and a strong female lead.

This is the first book I have read in this series.
