Excerpt from The Trustees of the Massachusetts General Hospital, to the Public
The undersigned Trustees of the, Massachusetts General Hospital are again compelled by an imperious sense of duty to supplicate in behalf of that interesting object of charity. It is now two years since they spread before the public the situation and exigencies of this institution. In addition to the facts and general course of reason ing then communicated, it is the melancholy duty of the Trustees to state that cases are continually pre sented to their knowledge, indicating that the want of such an institution is not only necessary but imperious.
