This novel started with a murder. Then enters Jake Ketcher, a reporter, the new guy at a newspaper in Rilertown. The story takes place in the 70's when papers were the popular way of getting news. The book then goes into a litany of newspapers that did not interest me. Was about 150 pages in that my interest peeked when returning to the story of investigation and murder. Really got into this book then as characters took over and gripped the reader into the plot and ending. Thanks to Goodreads and Mr.Yetter.

Having worked for a newspaper group for a few years it was fun to walk back in to the newsroom. Sabrina was a witch I found it hard to believe Jake put up with her for as long as he did. Loved the mystery and intrigue of the book. I found it slightly "overwritten" by spots.
