The hive by Maxwell Zwain is a story about a vampire trying to move away from a life of killing. It is well written and made interesting by the fact that the "hero" of the story is a young girl. She is running away not only from her old life but also from the vampire who created her and wants her back. The protagonist's thoughts come across quite believable and the fighting scene is very well laid out. However, the book ends rather abrupt and leaves the ending pretty open suggesting another novel. If this is a good or a not so good thing remains debatable. It's worth a read.
