Blood of the Lambs

Rate this book
Blood of the Lambs is the first in a three-book series in the vampire subgenre. It has elements of both fantasy and thriller, as a fundamentalist American administration attempts to reveal the existence of a small and long-hidden community of vampires in an effort to maintain control of a fearful populace. The government is waging a secret war on the world’s vampires, but this time the good guys are wearing black.

The story follows its protagonists, the neonate vampire Artemis Dolorienne and her human lover, as they flee federal agents and plan their retaliation through the creation of their own religious sect. The story takes them from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe to Manhattan, and from Buffalo, New York to Washington, DC, and New Orleans.
