Why isn't there a review for this book yet? I came across it at the public library and the cover is amazingly beautiful. It's a story about a boy who wears a lucky hat made by his grandmother and one day loses it in the Grand Canyon. His wise grandmother tells him that when we lose something we cherish, we often find something else we cherish more. The story continues into adulthood where Michael marries and finally takes his family to the Grand Canyon where his daughter helps him search for his lost lucky hat.
The illustrations are some of the most beautiful art I've seen in a children's book. I may be biased living in Arizona, which is the setting of the book, I think the canyon and animals are beautifully drawn.

Got this book when visiting the Grand Canyon for my nephew and wanted to give it read before I send it to him to make sure it is good. I thought it was super cute, has a really sweet life lesson that I don't feel like we hear as much and the illustration is very beautiful. I can't wait to send it to him to read. I would definitely check it out for your little one.

So long, and such teeny tiny print. This would be hard to read to a group.
