This a great book to try for a reluctant reader. The illustrations are inviting and frankly hilarious. It teaches math concepts, but the best part is the fact that it can help a child go from not resisting to read for 20 minutes to actively counting the tiny animals on the page. The illustrations were detailed and wonderful, they were what drew me in and helped me share the potential of this book with my daughter. After we were done, we passed this book to my avid reader daughter and my husband who was happy to show how the math problem could be solved. Those who love animals or simply counting will enjoy this. Highly recommend.

This book needed translation into English for our bilingual reading sessions. The illustrations are beautiful and Henry loves the small animals in every shop. The story gives math clues so the reader can figure out how many bears work at the bakery. It was clever and cute.

I'm not sure how to feel about this book because I read it in Spanish very quickly to a few two-year-olds. I think it'd be fun to read with an older kid and try to work out the math each time but I didn't get the chance myself.

A pretty funky book of animals and counting. You have to see it to believe it. weird but it passed the Ab test.
