Definitely the best parts of this book are the intro and conclusion, althought the chapters by Russell and Nelson are okay, too. You get the impression that not all the contributors caught the vision of this project: English the discipline is socially constructed and must defend its boundaries with social sciences and cultural studies to maintain itself. Such a potentially useful book, but dissapointing--I was especially sad by the weak entry on creative writing.
