A little girl describes to a new friend the "monster" that lives in her house. I think even to a pretty young child it would be obvious early on that the monster is really a baby.
There's no Marina Warner type analogizing going on here (at least not deliberately); it's pretty much a one-line joke.
It's about two kids talking about a monster only it was a baby. I knew it because I peeked through. My favorite part was when she was putting her baby monster inside his baby buggy. I liked the way they make it so it looks like real.
LOVE IT! Fabulous. We had just recently started calling the baby Gila Monster and found this book at the library thinking it was about kids playing dress-up. Fabulous.
