Bombshell is right! Griff is certainly knocked sideways when he attends his high school 20 year reunion. He never expected to bump into his first love, indeed he wouldn't have attended if he'd known she was going to be there but as she's there, he's going to get some closure and find out why she ran out on him all those years ago. Fab book based on a couple in their late 30s, dealing with love, ambition and heartache.

A fantastic second chance romance i am a sucker for mills and boon's books and this did not disappoint a great read perfect for a lazy weekend.

If you’re looking for a read that firmly tugs on the heartstrings in a thoroughly second chance romance way, then this may well be the book for you. Eva goes through quite the emotional ride in this book – and Griff doesn’t get off lightly either – but in amongst all the drama is a passionate romance that never died.
I really felt for Eva. No matter what she loves, it seems like she’s destined to lose it all in this book. And yes, while it was her choice to leave Griff and deal with things the way she did, that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. She was also very young at the time, and even though the decision was difficult, she showed great strength in how she handled things.
While I liked that these things had been difficult for her over the years, I was a little sad that at times she feels like everything was worthless. She has a career to be proud of, and yes, it could all have been so very different, but I wish she’d shown a little more pride in her achievements at times. Then again, she’s in a pretty low emotional place throughout most of this book, so her lachrymose outlook is kind of understandable.
As for Griff, he might not get as much of an emotional kicking as Eva, but he still has plenty of challenges to face. I liked how he didn’t let his anger overrule everything, though, and I really liked how the pair of them have a chance to really get to know each other again as adults, so their romance isn’t just based on their teenage years. I would have liked a bit more of an emotional resolution for him regarding Eva’s decisions, because his feelings sort of fade out as the book progresses. The story really is more about Eva than him, so I would have liked a little more Griff focus from time to time.
Having said that, overall, I really enjoyed this. It’s emotional and bordering on melodrama at times, but in the best possible way. It also has a really lovely ending, neatly tying up Eva’s emotional journey. In all, a stirring, heartfelt read.
