Paul Kruty is a leading expert on the work of Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd Wright, and the Prairie School. His books include Frank Lloyd Wright and Midway Gardens. Professor Kruty has published widely about Wright and the Prairie School, as well as American art and architecture and such diverse topics as the creation of Chicago's Astor Street neighbourhood. The development of casement-window hardware, America's first architects' licensing law, and the model brick house at the San Francisco world's fair. He has written articles about Chicago's early twentieth-century cultural scene, including its art exhibion societies, it's patrons, and it's private presses. A graduate of the University of Chicago and Princeton University, Dr. Kruty is professor of architectural history at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
