An account of Iraq's history, geography, government, economy, and culture focuses on the past twenty-five years and on developments occasioned by the country's enormous oil reserves and by Middle-East politics
I picked this up at a school library that was culling out their old books.
This book was published in 1978 so it is obviously not an up to date history of Iraq, nevertheless, it is still valuable for its description of Iraq's history, people groups, languages, culture and religions up to that year. It is also interesting because it gives the reader a sense of the attitudes towards the country prior to the rule of Saddam Hussein.
The photos are all in black and white and not great quality, but still interesting.
