Moon Metro Boston is the definitive guide to the hottest sights, shops, restaurants, amusements, and hotels that "the Hub" has to offer. With vivid color photos and discreet fold-out maps detailing all the must-see neighborhoods, this sleek guide highlights Boston's top sights as well as the spots only the locals know about. Clean, concise, and compact, Moon Metro Boston shows visitors where to dine along the Charles River, grab a drink at a bar near Fenway Park, shop at the boutiques in Beacon Hill, or when to catch a ride in a swan boat at the Public Garden lagoon. Moon Metro guidebooks take urban travel to a new level with an innovative fusion of style and function, and hip insider advice.
I love this series for its maps (the fold-out kind) that are highly detailed and tell you everything you need to know about a place. If you are a visual/map-loving kind of person (like me!) then you'll absolutely love the maps and this series is perfect for you. The number reason why I buy Moon Metro travel guides is because of the kick ass, fold-out, laminated maps. 5 stars!
I am not so enthusiastic about the rest of the book, however. I felt like the rest of the pages highlighted some restaurants (usually trendy ones), a few interesting shops here and there (but mostly expensive boutiques), and there was way too much info about hotels. I always get annoyed with the hotel section because I don't necessarily need a guidebook to tell me where to stay (there are more than enough resources online). So, 5 stars for maps + 3 stars for the rest of the book amounts to 4 stars overall.
