George Grosz was born in 1893 in Berlin, studied at the Dresden Academy and the School of Applied Arts in Berlin, where he has been instrumental in the Dadabewegung. In 1933 he emigrated to the United States, 1938, he became an American Staatsbürger.George Grosz returned a few weeks before his death in May 1959 returned to Berlin.
