This is a very elementary text for learning about the historical, societal components of multicultural education. If you are new to multicultural education, I would suggest this book for its length, clarity, and insight across the ME gamut; however, if you are more than familiar with ME, this might be more of a trudge than a breath of fresh air. I am passionate about liberatory pedagogy and this book fits the bill.
