I first discovered this book in the library of a Benedictine monastery in the late 1970's while on retreat...i soon thereafter purchased it, and have referred to it many times over the years. I like the balanced approach May develops for meditation, like the notion of "doing" versus "being". All of the basics of meditation are here, with special attention to "centering" types of meditation that use words, sounds, or images as a base. The illustrations are light-hearted, in keeping with the 'gentle way' of "flowing with" rather than "forcing" life.
