Serious relationships will only complicate his life, and he’s not willing to make that sacrifice. Hannah, though, is proving to be hard to resist. Breaking the Ice: A Sport Romance Novel is one of those books that you can easily pick up and enjoy the heated connection between the hottie hockey player and a beautiful sideline reporter. Bryant does a great job at portraying the chemistry between Jake and Hannah. Their tiptoed lines between professionalism and romance will make you smile and your heart warm. Bryant also gives you a string of hilariously funny side characters that beg to entertain you and lighten up the overall story line. However, with that being said I can't give this book anything higher than a 3.5 star because I felt like there was so much more story to tell and Bryant just brushed the surface of what could have been. As I was just getting started into rooting and falling in love with these two the story was completely over. I wish Bryant would have taken some time to build on what they had started before closing out this story. This reads more like a novella and less like a novel. Also in the beginning this story was a bit jumpy in regards to a timeline. Had Bryant simply dove deeper, developed her characters and story further and lengthening it considerably, there would have been no need for the skipping timeline. With all that being said, Bryant is an author who shows great promise. Her characters and story were there, I just wanted more.

Breaking the Ice, is a well written, engaging and quite entertaining short read. Whilst it's labelled as a sports romance novel, I really believe it's more of a novella length book, and I would have loved more of their story, which is why this read only got four stars from me.

I love a sports romance, and hockey players are always wonderful to read about, so when offered the opportunity to read Breaking the Ice, in exchange for an honest review I jumped at the chance.

This is Hannah and Jake's story. Hannah is a sports reporter, who is incredibly dedicated and committed to her job. She's very professional, and stubborn and works very hard in a male dominated profession to reach her life long goals.

Jake is a hockey player and single father who has reputation that follows him on and off the ice as a bit of a player. Hannah isn't like the women that Jake is used to that hang around the ice rink, looking to hook up with a player and she makes him work for it, to get her attention.

I really loved the instant attraction and chemistry between this hero and heroine. It was great to have the book told from a dual point of view, meaning I was able to connect with both lead characters.

I loved the side characters in this book, particularly Hannah's assistant she was a stand out in this book and one more than one occasion she had me laughing out loud.

4.5 stars!! Fast paced sexy love story.

Hannah is a reporter dedicated to her job aka she has no social life, and she wants to keep it that way. In walks Jake Wilson one of the best hockey players with his beautiful blue eyes and amazing body. But Hannah knows this can go knowhere. Can she keep it strictly professional?!?!

Jake is a star hockey player and has a rep with the ladies. Until Hannah walks into his life. She is making him chase her and he is loving it. But after one night of fun she freaks and leaves him after he spills his heart to her. Can he get through the rejection or will he find a way to make her stay?!?!

I think Jake is like my new hottie book boyfriend. I love that he is such a good daddy and I think he will make a great boyfriend. And I love that Hannah just doesn't fall for his words and ruin her career. I'm glad everything happened just the way it did. This was a well written, to the point, fast paced love story. Who doesn't love hot hockey players?!?! Oh and her assistant cracks me up!!

**I received this book as a review copy from the author and in return gave my honest review.**

Congrats Summer on having a killer debut novel ;)

*I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Hannah wants to be the top sports reporter and she's given up a social life in order to achieve her dreams, but there's one person who wants her to let him in. But risking everything she's done doesn't come easy to her.

Jake has the reputation of the standard hockey star ho, but he wants more with Hannah, too bad he doesn't know how to make her see past his reputation. He'll invite her into his and his son's lives without even a second thought, but when it comes to convincing her that she belongs there he'll be up against some major road blocks.

I wanted to love this, but with only the occasional glimpse of character depth and the fast pasted storyline it felt incomplete. And the way it ended...ugh! But the storyline is good. If you want a quickie romance read then this is for you, but if you want to be pulled into the story then I'd pass.

A sweet and sexy short read

This book came as a recommendation and I'm glad I took the advice. It's a great short read filled with chemistry, laughter, stubborn characters, a cute little boy, and fighting for what you want. Hannah is a sports reporter and is becoming a very popular on at that but doesn't want anything to jeopardize her career. She meets Jake, a hockey player, and there is an instant attraction. He embraces but she ignores it thinking it will mess up her career. They have one night and she falls in love with his son but can't get passes her career and his reputation. Do you think she will finally see what she van potentially have with Jake or will she let it go? Read this book it will make you laugh and get mad too because the characters are stubborn.

Jake is a star athlete on the ice with the reputation of leaving behind a string of broken hearts. Hannah is a reporter that has been building her career in a male dominated profession for years. Now that she has earned the respect of her colleagues, she is doubly protective of her good name. So contemplating a relationship with a star hockey player is out of the question. However, Jake feels what he and Hannah have is not a casual affair but so much more. Now he only has to reach beyond his reputation and convince her. This fast, short read is a moving portrayal of overcoming one's less than stellar reputation and rising to a higher level of fulfillment. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Four stars.

Breaking the Ice was a sweet and fun sports romance. The main characters Jake and Hannah were easy to connect too and I really enjoyed the chemistry the two portrayed on the pages of this all to short story. I would have loved, loved, loved more story. While it was a super quick real, coming in at only 132 pages, I just enjoyed the storyline so much that I wanted more time with the characters. At times things felt rushed, but I think that's solely due to the fact that it was a novella.

I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This was a sweet story with minimum angst. We have Jake a hockey player and Hannah the sports writer. They meet, sparks fly and Hannah becomes worried about her career as a sports writer, if she becomes involved with Jake. I liked this story. I do feel that more could have been explained and that the way they hooked up and had sex was too quick and the overall story could have flowed better, especially if they really spoke to each other. It ended rather abruptly with them having a HFN ending.

Hannah had built her career with a lot of hard work and by refusing the sports superstars that she interviews but the successful sports reporter finds that where handsome Jake Wilson is concerned it may all be in vain. Jake only does hook ups and won't do relationships after being burnt he is committed to two things, his young son and his career. Hannah is hard to resist and he quickly realises there is more to the two of them. This is a great story of true love and definitely gives you a feel good factor.

This is a great short sports romance with lots of chemistry between the characters. Jake is your average big name in hockey, arrogant, sexy, charming, skillful, and a bit of a playboy. Hannah is a career driven sports reporter who doesn't mix business and pleasure. The story is a quick easy read, I would give it a 3.5 star only because I found the story a bit rushed.

If you're looking for quick read then this is the one for you. The story is well developed and you'll fall in love with both the characters early in the story.
