Entrepreneur. Philanthropist. Game Changer.

Alan Fox has lived a long and joyful life, achieving tremendous success in many different arenas. He has advanced degrees in accounting, law, education, and professional writing. He has expanded his commercial real estate company, ACF Property Management, Inc into a billion dollar enterprise since founding it in 1968. He founded Rattle Poetry Journal (in 1994), a nationally renowned publication including his conversations to noted and Pulitzer Prize winning poets. In 1999, he founded The Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation, a non-profit that provides funding to youth education projects. And in the midst of all this, he has raised a large and loving family.

How did he do all this? Alan attributes his happiness and success to consistently applying his People Tools, the simple, practical life lessons that he’s accumulated—and practiced—over the years. Author of People Tools: 54 Strategies for Building Relationships, Creating Joy, and Embracing Prosperity and People Tools for Business: 50 Strategies for Building Success, Creating Wealth, and Finding Happiness.

Alan’s message in both books is simple: the key to happiness and success in life is building strong relationships. That’s exactly what Alan has done throughout his life. Very skimmable, as nearly the entire book is anecdotes from the author’s experience or people he knows. This book will be most useful to people who are at the beginning of figuring out relationships or themselves, as the advice is very basic and far between, given the preponderance of anecdotal examples. If you’ve already read books about getting along with people or had a lot of therapy, you are unlikely to find anything new here.

On page 34 Nobel Prize in Literature winner Isaac Bashevis Singer is given the wrong name. Twice. Makes me wonder what else is mis-quoted, mis-names, or mis-attributed in this book.

Very pleasant read. Well organized and short chapters drive home the concise issue areas. Loved the examples from the authors life and found them quite applicable to my own relationships. This was a very positive and hopeful book on ways to keep a relationship healthy and functioning. I’d recommend for couples in early relationships or those working on proving theirs.

Wow!!!! What a book. I recently came out of a 18 year marriage and reading this book has given me hope for a better future, in the Love and Relationship department. A lot of the things in the book I already knew but most of it was very useful and helpful. I hope with the guidance of this book that I will be able to get past my fears and move on to better and brighter days. Thank you Alan so much for giving me the opportunity to read your amazing book.

If you're in a relationship you'll like this book

I was under the impression that this book was geared more towards how to develop relationships and although it does give some points on that most of the book was about how to sustain relationships. How to deal with your partner. I didn't get much out of this book however if you're already in a relationship he does share his experiences in how to deal with them.
