Orchids have evolved to become the largest family of plants in the world, and this accessible and expert book by two of the world's leading orchid authorities provides everything you need to know to grow and display orchids successfully.
Everything you need to know about orchids - from how they were first discovered to how they can be propagated - is inside this book. I also really liked that the authors gave tips on growing for not just temperate climates but also tropical ones (since I live in Singapore which is tropical). This book answered practically all my questions. There is also a handy table at the end that lists symptoms and possible causes and treatment.
What could definitely be improved though, is the size of the font! After reading this entire book, my eyesight must have deteriorated a great deal because the text was SO TINY. I had to squint just to make out certain words as not only was the font microscopic, but the text was also really closely-spaced. A real pain.
I would also like to have seen a chart listing the different orchid species and their pictures, to help with identification.
