This is definetely a book for young readers, as it teaches colors and shapes. Through out the story Max, little pink and big blue paint the house all different colors to match the sky not realizing that the sky changes colors at different times of the day. At the end, the house is painted like a rainbow.
I gave this book a 2 star rating because I felt like it kind of gave kids the idea to go paint all over their house, although it does teach shapes and colors.
Little Pink (the pig) initially paints the house early in the morning to match the color of the sky. By the time Max and Big Blue (the elephant) come outside to see the artwork the sky had changed colors. Throughout the story all three paint the house different colors to match the sky without thinking that the sky changes colors according to the weather and time of day. They eached changed the others artwork by adding their own touch. At the end they all included everyones color by making a rainbow. I like the way this book ends in a compromise. This book is a good book for working in a team with people that have different strategies.
The story and the fantastic colours means this is a very simple but effective way to go through the colours with your little one. I took my son to baby signing and this book proved useful in going through the BSL signs for the colours.

I gave this book a 1 star rating because I felt like it just gave kids the idea to go paint all over their house. Even though it does teach shapes and colors, I don't think it really had an overall meaning to it.
