Published eight years before her 2024 masterwork, Doom Glove, Ultra-Cabin shows some of the early seeds of Lambright's weird abstract artistry. A fun, sometimes emo, and discombobulating read.
Saw this poet read at Open Books last month. She was enjoyable and funny. Picked up her book and I'm glad I did. It's full of interesting, short poems.
The poems in Kimberly Lambright's excellent debut collection are small but not sparse. Her images startle and seem to create a new language; her voice leaves an afterglow. In each poem resides "that honest sentence."
