Counting with the Mayans gives the counting symbols for the numbers from 0 to 20, the base of the Mayan number system. Then each page gives a fact on Mayan culture with a picture counting from 0 to 20 and a short but limited explanation of the picture and number. At the end of the book was an excellent list of additional readings based on reader's age and reading level plus a bibliography where the facts were found that were included in the text. This is not a typical counting book, which the title suggested. It was interesting as far as it went.
