A manual for singles and couples and guide to understanding and achieving a successful spiritual marriage while keeping up with the demands of living in the 21st century.
This book is full of gems. Since we got married I have been wondering "What is this all about, anyway?" The only "wisdom" I had gleaned from the social world around me was that marriage was about enjoying each other, and helping each other grow. That's a lot, but I felt surely there must be more to it, but I didn't know what that something more might be or where to look for it. Well the answers are in this book! It's opening my mind and challenging me with some totally new ideas about the marital relationship and genders and while the ideas are challenging they are striking a chord with me down deep. This book is easy to read because the chapters are very short and it's got a variety of kinds of material. There is very practical common-sense wisdom from the author, and quotes and lectures of Yogi Bhajan's that are powerful and rich that I just have to put the book down and digest for a while before I read on. There are also some short essays by psychologists and counselors, and interviews with married people. It contains recommendations for yoga practices to relieve certain marital problems. The "spiritual path" referred to in the title is pretty specific: Kundalini Yoga. The book isn't intended for the wider "spiritual" audience. Well, it is, but I don't think it's going to speak to everyone. Still, I think if you have an interest in yoga you'll at least enjoy perusing it. Warning: the book contains some amateurish poetry.
