What do you do when the man who was supposed to protect you is the one who caused you the most harm?
That's the reality that Icess Kingston had been living since she was eight years old. The day her mother married her step father Kenyon was the day he turned her into daddy's good girl. In his eyes she was made for him and he made sure that she knew it. All innocence was lost but Icess was determined to gain it back even if that meant she had to betray him by jumping into the beds of other men. But the more she chased the control she was seeking the more out of control she became, that is until God stepped in.
Genesis Sekibo a native of Kenya and the cousin to her best friend’s boyfriend enters her life and instantly feels like she could be the one for him. The more time they spend together the more he realized just how broken she is and he can only think of one thing to do for her. Pray. Genesis knows she has demons that she is battling but has no idea just how strong they are. Will those revelations cause him to no longer be interested and question if he is really hearing God’s voice? Or will he break through that barrier and show her whose daughter she truly is?
When your spirit is being broken by someone that should protect you sometimes we find comfort in the things and people that we shouldn’t. Some turn to drugs and alcohol while others turn to the wrong people and habits. Life can throw us some unfair curveballs and we think that God is punishing us instead of using those obstacles to push us into our destinies. Enter into the complicated life of Icess as she deals with the hell within herself and Genesis as he does his best to love that hell out of her.
Denora never disappoints me. All are books are awesome and has a message behind them. Icess went thru all that turmoil. Genesis came along omg he as God sent. Get this book I know you will love it!!
I Absolutely loved every moment of this book, it reminded me for every disappointment we go through God is always there weather we acknowledge him or not. Icy prove that we are strong women no matter what and her boyfriend truly shows what a real man is suppose be. A must read😊
First let me say.......The anointing of God is truly evident in your writing. Loved this book. So real, so powerful,so anointed. Continue always in the will of God. Blessings.
I really enjoyed this book, It had drummer, excitement, and lots of real character.. Everything that you can expect in Denora Boone books... Very good.. Love the ending.
I can never get tired of reading Denora Boone books. The words and views are powerful and I receive them completely. Kenyon had my finger on the trigger with his nasty wicked self. I want him to suffer in the worst way possible.
The issue that Icess was dealing with in Daddy's Good Girl was too powerful to be wrapped in a short story. I needed to see the journey from pain to healing told in a more in depth story. The story was good and I loved how Genesis took his time with Icess. His love for her could be seen by the prayers he prayed for her. But, I felt there was so much more to be said and hashed out, especially with the issue the main character was dealing with in the book.
Denora Boone is such a talented writer. Her characters resonate with with real people! I love the struggle she brought to Icess and Genesis story. If you are having issues with your faith or you just want to know more about the CF genre...Denora Boone's books are a great place to start. I look forward to seeing Denora take us deeper into her characters as she continues her ministry of writing to reach the modern woman!
This was a great read and had a very powerful message. The storyline was good and consistent and it flowed. It gave us the story of Icesis and what she went through as a child and in her life with the people that surrounds her. But at the end of it all....it was the message behind that story that left you fulfilled. Great job!
Omg I cried reading this it was a touching story and as always Mrs Denora you gave us our touch of ratchet (LOL) with all of the gospel we needed girl I swear you did the dang thing as always I'm touched and inspired I recommend this read you won't be disappointed
We must remember there's always a blessing after passing God's test! I would recommend this to a broken spirit to show God's continual loving kindness.
Wow!!!!! What can I say about this book??? I loved literally EVERYTHING about it! Debora, honey you outdid yourself.! I was fully invested in Icess and Genesis's lives. There is nothing like a God fearing man who covers you and protects you and loves you back from the point of self destruction!!! Wow I cried, laughed got angry and rejoiced!!!! Thank you Mrs. Boone, my hat off to you ma'am!!!
