"Barsacq sez whaaa?..."
(A pun there for all you Howard Stern fans...)

Actually, I thumbed through this book back in my youth and can't remember what Barsacq said exactly. But I never forgot the book, because it was for decades the ur-text of vintage movie production design. I just ordered a beat-up copy from ebay, so am anxious to see it again.

It is a classic film book, all about set and production design, especially that of fantasy, epic and period costume films - liberally illustrated with nicely reproduced photographs from notable productions from the golden age, mainly pre (WWII)-war. My rating reflects mainly my impressed reaction to the nicely printed epic photos.
