Éric Justin Léon Zemmour; born 31 August 1958 is a Jewish Algerian French polemicist, essayist, political journalist and writer. A household name in his homeland, he gained international attention with the publication of The French Suicide, a best-seller book for which he was awarded the 2015 Prix Combourg-Chateaubriand. Zemmour also received the 2011 Prix Richelieu for the whole of his career as a journalist.
