Guns and Thorns

Rate this book
In his father’s office, Marco Verri stood in front of the man who had once put a blade on his neck, the man who had a gun pointed to his head just then and begged for mercy. It was not the first time that Marco saw a man at his father’s feet, crying and begging, but the first time that he couldn’t stand what he saw. He didn’t pity the man or his father. He pitied himself and the life he had chosen, a life that he had to leave if he didn’t want to be the one pointing a gun at someone’s head, if he didn’t want to be like the man whom he had chosen as his father.

This is so bittersweet! I first read this series about 5?/6? years ago on wattpad. It has definitely been one of the most memborable. I can't explain how I'm feeling and how much this book was there for me during such a difficult period. M D's writing is so raw, it really makes you question what you're feeling. It makes you question right and wrong and most of all it really makes you question your definition of love. Her characters are so real and authentic that it's hard to not love them all a little (although there is one character that I don't think I will ever like) This series is all about love, sacrifice and family. It's stirring all sorts of emotions for me but I digress, this book is certainly a 5 star read and probably one of my very first five star reads. Thank you for bringing us on this journey with you.
