How long could she keep up this ridiculous charade? There was no point in telling Jesse Stuart the truth about her real age, Stefanie reflected bitterly. From the day she'd met this tough and virile marine biologist on a windswept beach on Vancouver Island, he'd assumed she was too young for him. I’m trying to think how my husband would feel if I spent the night at his brother’s while my husband was out of town, wore his shirt to bed, and the next morning, answered the door to a complete stranger in said shirt, while yawning and excusing my tiredness by explaining that “WE” didn’t get much sleep last night, then later that morning took a stroll on the beach with him and kissed him on the mouth?

Cause that’s exactly what the hero of this piece did with his sister-in-law and gaslights the heroine into believing it is perfectly normal, platonic, brother-in-law and sister-in-law behavior, and that EVERYBODY who thought the OW was his mistress, from his best friend to his godmother to the heroine and even to the neighbourhood RCMP officer (lol), were all mistaken.
