I am not a good person. In fact, I am the worst of the worst. I was dragged down into the gutter and have thrived in this seedy underbelly where I was recreated. Reborn as Eleanor McGuire, socialite and Professional Hitman. The filthiest, dirtiest, high profile pieces of shit, I end them. I am a huntress. Corrupt men are my prey.

Dawn and Kristen want to warn you: this is not for the faint of heart! But if gore, violence, and extreme sexual situation are your cup of tea, this is the read for you.

Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.

The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong
women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I'll leave to speculation.

When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.

This book was freaking epic! It had so much going on and ALL of it was so good! I had no idea what I was in for and I had a blast reading this!!

We meet Stella/Eleanor/Ellie and she's badazz. She's an assassin and absolutely loves her job. But that's not all. She's a socialite by day and blends in expertly with the wealthy. Honestly, her story is really interesting, even though it's only just begun. She is the main character/attraction and everyone else is a side piece lol.

What I want to see in book two? Wishful thinking, maybe, but I would love it if Ellie and Theo found a way to be together. I realize that their relationship is taboo but it doesn't make it any less hot. Just the potential of it is delicious.

Well... here's to hoping!

If you're looking for a romance, this book isn't for you! If you're looking for a long and drawn out book, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a sane and boring heroine, this isn't for you!

If you like DARK reads, MURDER, CRAZY and BAD-A anti-heroines,STEAMINESS and some TABOO in your books then this one is for YOU!

What I loved the most about this book is being in Ellie's head! The way she thinks and acts is very intriguing and is what drove me to keep turning the pages!

“It’s a skeleton key. That design reminded me of you—beautiful but hard, delicate but cold.”

 photo F88D3DC2-AF03-4BDA-89A7-593FB3490F28_zpsiyhnpv7l.gif

Ellie had a rough childhood and was taken away from her mother. She was then put into the hands of her new guardian, Theo! Over the years they start to develop feelings for each other! They know a relationship between them isn't something they should do, but sometimes in life we do things we shouldn't! I actually really loved what these two had going on and I hope that their relationship is continued on in the series!

“Stop me,” I whispered......“I’d regret it for the rest of my life if I did,” Theo said to me, eyes full of warmth—a look I’d never been on the receiving end of."

Well, it turns out that Ellie is destined to be a hired assassin! And I was super pumped when the story took a turn into Ellie helping out one of her close friends in a time of need!

"I couldn’t run from the reality I was destined for."

Oh my days. Although I don't like reading books until I've got the whole series in front of me I'm glad I did read this one. It really was so good.

This is a quick read and I was glued from start to finish. Ellie certainly grew on me as I kept reading. She is a strong solid main character. The suspense had me gripped and I couldn't read it fast enough. Although a quick read it had twists that I didn't expect.

I'm waiting rather eagerly for the next two books. If you like gore and violence in your books then I definitely recommend this story.

The Huntress Book one by Kristen Hope Mazzola and Dawn Robertson
Eleanor McGuire was a child when she was placed with Theo McGuire. He has raised her as a princess even though her life started out in the gutter. To the world he is her father but to each other they are so much more. Eleanor has used sex as a coping mechanism. While Theo is an extremely rich man with many legal businesses he also has a few illegal businesses. One of those businesses is to hire assassins and he has trained Eleanor to be one. When Eleanor friend reveals what her husband Remington Black is all about, Eleanor offers her help. Will this come back to bite her or will the sins of evil forever be buried? The characters are complex. I must be honest and say that there seemed to be too much emphasis on sex and not enough about the story. I am still sitting here trying to work out what the story really is and where it is going. I hope book two will give me more of the story.

The Huntress is an exciting mix of romance, murder, BDSM, and girl power!

tumblr_inline_n6ma3t1isu1qhgk1x

The opening scene of this book dives right in to the dark life our heroine leads and the suspense does not stop through the entire read.

Eleanor McGuire was dealt a truly bad hand in life. Her mother was an alcoholic and put Eleanor in awful situations until she was rescued from her horrid mother during a traffic stop. An officer at the scene called in a favor and off Ellie went to live with her new Daddy Warbucks...

giphy

Kind of. Not really. Haha! Maybe if Daddy Warbucks was 30 years younger and much, much hotter. ;)

Ellie's relationship with her new father is quite interesting...

She grows into an obviously flawed and deeply disturbed woman who copes with her issues with sex... and murder.

black_widow

If you're looking for a suspenseful but sexy read, this book will satisfy your craving and then some!

I give The Huntress 4 out of 5 Krissy's Stars.

I'm excited to see where this series goes!

This is the first book in this series and it had me from the Prologue!

It starts with a bang and the end has left me wanting more, I am not going to go into to many details of this book as you need to read it this book it will not be for everyone but I loved every minute of it. Ellie is a Socialite by day and a deviant by night….

Eleanor was a young child when she was put in the care of Theo, he has raised her. To everyone he is her father, but to one another there is much more going on…

Theo is a rich man. he runs a lot of businesses one of them you can hire Assassins! He trained Ellie to be the best, she is the Huntress and Corrupt men are her prey!

I can’t wait to see where the story goes.

If you like a strong female lead, then this book for you.

FIVE STARS!!! This is one twisted, f***ed up story and I LOVED every minute of it. From the first page it had me curling deeper into my chair and going “what!?” It was just the kind of sick, intense sex that makes my heart flutter and my mind race. Read this is if you love unpredictable, jaw-dropping, powerfully sensual stories.

I short, sharp read, I finished this first instalment in about an hour - but don't let that put you off. It was a glorious hour of a strong (if not psychotic) woman, comfortable with her sexuality and her independence. A mistress of manipulation.

I figured only the strongest people could muster up the will to never look back, but after a while I learned it didn't take a brave soul, but rather the kind of person who has a heart of black..."

This was a hot read, with sexual scenes involving collars and leashes, dirty talk, face fucking and group sex - most of which resulted in a certifiable one-handed book (if you're into that kind of thing); some of which I wished had been described in a little more detail, such as the group sex scene.

Coldplay on the iHome and bubbles in my bath while I light a joint, drink a glass of wine and masturbate to the thought of the life I just took only moments ago.

If you're after romance, there isn't any here. This is a woman dealing with multiple men in her life - her complicated relationship with her father-figure (who, it has to be said, was my favourite), her friendships with Linc and Joseph, and couple more casual ones thrown in for good measure. It'll be interesting to see where these relationships go in the sequels, but even if it's nowhere, gimme more filthy sex and I'll be happy.

Taking my face in between his hands, Theo looked down at me and pressed a gentle kiss to my lips. "You are mine," he whispered as he slowly eased his cock inside my waiting cunt.

This was a highly enjoyable quick read. It wasn't perfect - I wasn't so keen on the voice, which in some ways felt like a stream of consciousness, and I really hate flashbacks (I prefer past events to be written in chapters set in the past as it makes for a more seamless read). It also could have had more detail in the assassinations to make it a little darker. But regardless of that, the concept and characters were intriguing to make me keep reading, and make me want more.

Ellie lives in two very different worlds. By day she’s a charity running, upper class mingling, socialite. She wears the right clothes, rubs shoulders with the right people and attends all the best parties. But by night she’s a deadly assassin who takes out the scum of the political and financial world. And she’s enjoys her job very much.

“I figured only the strongest people could muster up the will to never look back, but after a while I learned it didn’t take a brave soul, but rather the kind of person who has a heart of black, no feelings, just completely and undeniably emotionally void – my own perfect shade of f*cked up.”

What I really loved about this twisted story is that all of my favorite taboos come out and play! They mix in and mingle with my sick addiction to damaged heroes/heroines. The Huntress is a quick read with a confident, kickass and cold-blooded assassin with a screwed up childhood. She’s as secure in her sexuality as she is with her ability to take out her next target. I have so many questions that I can’t wait to be answered like who is the mastermind behind Ellie’s employment. Which of the many men she keeps around in her life will keep her attention? And what does Linc do in his private time? We all need a friend like Ellie to help us with our "problems". Very enjoyable to read and I look forward to the next book.

If you like steamy, dark stories, you will definitely devour this book and be waiting for the next one in the series. Ellie’s world is intriguing and you can’t wait to know every little nook and cranny.

The Best Parts:
There are times when you read a book and think, oh I’m just like that character. Not when you read this baby though. You may not be like Ellie, but trust me, by the end of this, you will WANT to be Ellie. She is a bad ass that kicks butt, and does it with a finesse that makes her seem like the most graceful woman ever.

Not to mention her men as well. You see how I said that? HER MEN. These men would truly be nothing without her, and what is a better power trip than that? Linc, Theo, even Joseph. The dynamic between all of these characters sets the page on fire, and will have you fanning yourself all the same.

The Worst Parts:
If you didn’t see above, there is a disclaimer for this novel. Doesn’t take it lightly. This book brings it. And when I say that I mean straight to the page it will bring you sex, blood, gore, reality. If you don’t mind the boundaries being pushed then dive in, but if you are on that edge you are going to have to decide if your are willing to blacken your soul just a little bit more ;]

Final Thoughts:
This book captivates you from the Prologue until the Epilogue. And what I love is that it gives you everything you need right at this moment in your life, but leaves you wanting more than you could have ever anticipated for. The ending is absolute perfection. Sometimes you don’t need an exact ending and I think that works with this story so well, and truly what makes it unique in the book world, and sets up for the next books in this series.

ARC Generously Provided by Kristen and Dawn in exchange for an honest review

OMG this book is so awesome!! I always read romance books! but this was full of suspense and I LOVE IT!! Seriously at the beginning Ellie wasn't my favorite character but after some more chapters and learn about the other characters I understand why she is that way and actually in some situations I want to be like her!! She has a lot of men and alsoo an attitude that sometimes I'd love to have! well I think I'll love to be Ellie!

This book once I started reading I can't stop until the end!! seriously is not a long book so you can read it super quickly and the suspense is amazing!! I have to say that at this moment my favorite character is Linc I want to know more about him!!! and of course I want to know more about Ellie!! OMG what would happen in the next book??? Can't wait to read the Hopeless!!

So this one was what I should have loved but unfortunately I didnt. BUT please make your own decision. Ellie is a dark dark character who is certainly very comfortable about everything she is. Theo changed her from a poor girl to a killer. A fear assassin for hire she loves her job and never feels bad about what she does.

Again I should have completely loved this but the BDSM parts were just over the top for me. Its not that I dont want to read that it was just too much on top of the killing and somewhat taboo stuff. Again I dont mind those reads but throw it all in a pot together on this one ... I mean zero happiness. Usually I loke that thrown in there but there is nothing or either I was too consumed with the dark parts and didnt see the nicer parts.

Thank you ladies for the ARC. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Make your own decision! We all like different things!

Short, sweet, steamy and leaves you wanting more.  And you know there has to be more, you can't let something end like that.   Ellie is an assassin and loves it, and I love how she unwinds after a job.  "Couples" parties, hhmmm.  The peeks into her past are something else too. The people are few in her life, but the ones she has are priceless to her.  So after a hot hot hot weekend away, her friend Suzanne has had enough of her cheating husband.  Not sure if Ellie is supposed to tell anyone what she does, she offers to help her with her problem.  It gets done nice and sweet and in cleanest way.  But the end leaves you wondering what else is going to happen.  You know there is more and I can't wait to find out.

***I am not a good person. In fact, I am the worst of the worst.***

Elenor is a socialite and a professional hitman.

Theo is a very rich man and has trained Elenor to be an assassin.

They were thrown together years ago as father and daughter. But.... is that all????

This is the first book in the series and it has me itching and waiting for more!! Can't wait to read more if this series!!

This was really interesting read. Ellie was a pita and I didn't like her but by the end of the story I did respect her.. still didn't like her but i understood her lol. She is a strong and badass women who doesn't take anything from anyone. Her men were amazing as well.. and sexy. The scenes were hott. The disclaimer for sex, gore and blood is true as well so if you dont enjoy those things don't read this story. I thought it was amazingly written and wonderfully done.

The Huntress by Dawn Robertson and Kristen Hope Mazzola
Erotic Thriller/Suspense. Part 1 of 3.
Disclaimer from blurb:
Dawn and Kristen want to warn you: this is not for the faint of heart! But if gore, violence, and extreme sexual situations are your cup of tea, this is the read for you.

Well, honestly that kind of warning would normally turn me away from a book, because honestly, I prefer a happy book, but then I think of some of my old favorites, especially the old paranormal books I have read and gore and violence are nothing compared to zombies ripping hearts out, right? What was really out of my comfort zone in The Huntress  was the fact that it's part 1 of 3. But Dawn Robertson and Kristen Hope Mazzola have been on my TBR list for so long, and I have only read short stories from them, so this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone...haha, kill being the operative word.

review-huntress-quote-copy

Ellie was rescued as a young girl from her drunk driving mother by a police officer who placed her with a very wealthy friend who could give her anything she wanted. She was raised by the handsome playboy millionaire, Theo McGuire, and a loving caretaker. Theo was above the law in many ways, and he had more of a friendship than a father/daughter relationship with Ellie. But Ellie spent years fantasizing about marrying him, and when she was of age, they both started having other fantasies. But this isn't a step daddy book, and those fantasies could never leave the confines of their home since they are known to all as father and daughter.
"Our relationship is an odd one for sure...It's a mixture of the brother-sister relationship many step siblings often develop with a hint of the inappropriate–although when we step out into the public eye, no one would ever know. For all intents and purposes, he is my father..."

Ellie also helps to run a charity with two friends, one, Seven, you may recognize from Dawn Robertson's Hers series; the other, Suzanne, is a sub married to a lying, cheating asshole. Ellie is also a high profile attorney. But from the age of 18, she has been trained to be the "Black Widow"; a hitwoman for the rich, and she only hits the bad.
"I don't feel bad about being a hitwoman because I know each one of these people deserve everything they get; call me the Dexter of the high profile."

She isn't only a lawyer and hitwoman, she is also a kinky fucker.
"At one point in time I have three dicks inside me. I ride Calvin while Joseph fucks my ass and Shane fucks my mouth."

I actually liked Ellie's story a lot, and I would like to have seen a few more cases she took on before the final, 'different' one in this story. I don't want to give anything away, so this is really hard to review, but when we get Remy's POV and Suzanne's POV, there was just too much of a change in focus from Ellie to Remy, and I just didn't feel like there was enough background for Remy and Suzanne to justify the change in focus to them.
Likes:

•I liked Ellie and her development. She is a strong, independent, take no shit kind of woman.
•It's sexy and exciting.
•Pulled me in right from the start and never let go.
•That she is kind of like Robin Hood.
•There was no major cliffy that made me want to hate the authors.

Dislikes:

•The story felt rushed. I needed a lot more background on Remy and Suzanne. There wasn't enough to make me hate Remy (even though he is an asshole), and I wish there was more build-up.
•The change in focus from Ellie to Remy & Suzanne made it feel like it was either written at two different times, or that is where the authors' split the writing.
•This is nit-picky, but I really hate the term finger banged (especially when she says she did it to herself).

The Down & Dirty:
I am finding it hard to rate part one of a 3-part story. I kind of feel like just as I was getting into The Huntress, it ended. I  really liked the development of Ellie, and the first half of The Huntress was really good. But the first person in Remy's head changed the focus of the story a bit and I felt like the second half needed more development and a longer build-up. I feel like it may have been a little rushed to the climax. But given that there are two more books in the series, that may rectify, and I reserve the right to go back and change this rating to be higher if the new additions more fully develop the story. Dawn and Kristen know how to write a strong and sexy heroine, and I can't wait to read more about Ellie in the next two installments.

Rating: 4 stars (but may be re-rated higher when the next installments come out), Heat - 4.75

This was definitely a good read. Loved the storyline and how Ellie got her start. How her past shaped her future. She has a wonderful charity and great job, and a deadly side job. I would have liked to have read more about the jobs that she does on the side, some bloody details of the currupt indivuduals that she takes down. I enjoyed reading about the ending to Remington Black, which I totally knew was gonna happen. He's a complete slime ball and had to be dealt with. Cannot wait for book 2 and 3.

🥀A hospital is less clinical than the writing style in this book😒

🥀 It's supposed to be a romance but I can't find love within a 100-mile radius of this story🙄

🥀The fmc, Ellie, lets the readers know, again and again, how humble and NOT spoiled she is. I call bullshit.....she is a rich, spoiled brat who would even bleed grounded rubies instead of blood when cut. ✋

Ugghh, safe to say I am not continuing with this series. I can't even dredge up the energy to rant about this properly. Just NO. 😫

The Huntress is a quick, dark, dirty, salacious, fantastic read. I was hooked from the first paragraph.
Elle is a hard kicking assassin by night and certainly knows how to take care of herself and her I don't care attitude makes her a force to be reckoned with.

I am new to these authors and I will definitely reading the rest of the series.

I meet one of the authors at a book event and the blurb for this one caught my attention.

It is a multi POV and the story takes you through part of the life of Ellie, the hitwoman. It was a quick and addicting read and I love that it is a hitwoman. I would have liked to see more detail on the last "prey" on the final moments.
Diffenelty going to start book 2 from the series.

Ellie is the daughter of an alcoholic. Her mother never cared for her and it has made her grow into a woman who does not deal with her emotions well. Eventually she is placed into the care of Theo, a millionaire real estate mogul. Going from rags to riches as changed Ellie in more ways than one. One of the ones being that she now is a hired assassin and loves her job. Throughout the book we follow Ellie through her adventures whether it be money, men, or murder.

I was not a big fan of The Huntress. I hate to say that in a review, but I feel as if there was too many bad things and not enough good. I really enjoyed the thought behind the story and feel as if it was given more work it could make for an amazing story. The sex was hot! The characters were intriguing. I just felt as if I needed more! I needed to find out more of what happens between Ellie and Theo. I want to see where things in more ways than one but I can’t explain for lack of spoilers. Just know, I liked it but I didn’t love it.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - This author is known for getting down & dirty but I feel like some of the hot action (sex club with four men!!) was hidden from us. There is probably a reason that Ellie is a hardened assassin & a cool businesswoman but finds herself plummeting into depression once her hot night of carnal sin is over. I guess Ellie is evolving and changing? The book is way too short & doesn't go into enough detail for me to decide who is on the good side, who is bad, & exactly where this book series is taking us - but maybe that is what the author wants. Ellie was raised by foster father Theo, a rich gorgeous young man who Ellie treats as a father figure & yet she knows he wants her just as bad as she wants him, as taboo as that is. We read a little from Remy's POV, a lawyer who has a wife of convenience, a pet, a subservient at his sexual beck & call, but when that pet feels like she's been screwed over Ellie steps in to plot revenge. Just not enough meat here to say I like the series yet.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when starting this since both authors are new to me, but I love a dark read so I wanted to see what it was about. Unfortunately, this is book 1 of 3 so I am now on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next with Ellie.

We know that Ellie lives a dual life from the start of the book…she is a killer, but also part of high society. The layers of her are amazing. The way the story unfolds and the puzzle pieces are given to the reader one by one is fantastic. There are definitely things that shocked me in the book and twists that I didn’t see coming. I don’t want to say any more since I think it is best to read without knowing what to expect. It was a nice short read, but yet a fulfilling story. Perfect!
