Straight up, Welding, Level 2 Trainee Guide is what happens when a great idea runs out of road. NCCER drops you into a small town where everyone wakes up one morning with the same dream, and the scene at the town meeting, where people start admitting what they saw, is spooky and funny at once. Then the explanation arrives and it's a letdown. Still worth it for the first two-thirds. For fans of strange, eerie small-town stories. Skip it if disappointing endings ruin books for you.

Look, Welding, Level 2 Trainee Guide is proof that a book can be short and still feel like a long, honest talk. NCCER says what needs saying and then gets out of the way, no fluff. A couple of passages feel rushed. Great for readers who hate bloat, skip it if you want to sink in for weeks.
