Jenna Jacks, a wildly temperamental artist with a load of baggage, goes through chauffeurs faster than she goes through the models she paints, or so rumors suggest. Professional limo driver Florence Walker immediately bumps heads with Jenna during her interview, but Jenna discovers that Flo is a highly sought after driver and there is also an undercurrent of attraction that both women work at denying. Despite the headaches that Jenna anticipates, she offers Flo the position and despite the warnings from co-workers that Jenna might be high maintenance, Flo takes the job. Unfortunately, the first day of work goes badly and causes Flo to become closer to her new boss than she wants to be, and not in the way either woman wants. Can the two women work on their differences and accept their mutual attraction and the baggage the other has, or will they miss the chance to become each other’s Forever Woman?
I’m a creator of romance who lost my way. I’m a dream weaver trapped in a world of useless information, bottom lines and bean counters. In short, I’m a writer. I pen novels of love, adventure and humor with African American lesbians as main characters.
I love writing and reading books. I’m a trivia buff and a movie freak. Just ask me and I’ll go see a movie, any movie at the drop of a hat. I’m crazy about my car. It’s a 15-year old VW convertible. Guess I like classic dependable things. I should mention I’m a curious sort too. I want to see, feel and experience as much as I can before I die and I plan on living a long time. My people live into their late nineties to over hundred and five.
This story has good roots but needs a good editor to tidy up the grammatical errors and extra words. Having said this, I enjoyed the story. The angst between the main characters was plentiful but like Jenna, I can’t go past a tall, dark, brooding, butch in leathers straddling a powerful motorcycle. I particularly liked the character of Walker, although it did take me a while to warm to Jenna. Supporting characters were likeable, essential And keep the story moving along, especially the sassy Percy. I plan to read the rest of this series and intend to follow up with more reviews but if I could pass on one thing to the author to make this book better, it would be back to my first point, please clean-up the manuscript of this story.
I enjoyed the book. It needed better editing, which took away from the reading a bit. The characters were intense. The plot was good. I would want to know what happened after the inn. It was an adjustment for me to get into the way this author described the interactions between the women.
The first book by Ms. Wilson I’ve read but it won’t be the last. The 2 main characters are interesting. The motorcycle riding butch and the beautiful artist form a great couple.
Read books out of sequence and had to start over. What a great way to start your day. Naomi, really was all I wanted her to be. She wasn’t the SLUT her reputation made her out to be. I just loved the “romance dance.” Glad I added the series to my library.
