This book was a rather nice surprise for me, as I'm not really a fan of stories discussing military life, but it was recommended with a very positive tone, so I thought I would give it a shot. And in the end, it proved to be a very interesting read.

The book tells the story of a young Hungarian man, emigrating to the US with his family and joining the military as a means to earn a living. His skills, both mental and physical, soon help him rise in the ranks, and thus he is presented with new challenges in the form of special training and missions.
The story is told from his point of view, presenting how he copes with each difficulty. He often questions the morality of his assignments, trying to make peace with having done what was needed in his missions. His actions speak mostly good of him, but he himself is flawed, which we learn from flashbacks from his past, and this makes him become more real and more human.

The book is definitely worth a read, the plot being interesting, and always rolling, the characters realistic and on point.
