A time-travel FF romance. Kindle Unlimited.

I wasn't as wowed about this one, but it's very well written. Lots of detail regarding the time machine and also about the MC's spinal injury that occurred when she was 16 and the new technologies that help her walk again.

She is haunted by strange dreams and a connection to a woman that lived in her house 100 years previous. We also get a lot of insight to the MC's roommate and a 'straight' romance there. I felt it too often became focused on the very day-to-day, meandering along - so I often would skip large chunks and it made literally no difference to the plot.

Also, once we did actually get our romantic partners together, it was a bit too complicated, in the fact that the other was already in a relationship, which was strained and further dramatics were happening there - but it never felt right and kind of made the love interest come off poorly. Plus both MC's once they pursue a relationship, with that third party still lurking. It just became messy and convoluted.

There is apparently a sequel, but I won't bother with it. I AM very interested in the authors other works - and absolutely recommend their book: A Shadow In Love.

Tissue warning.

Omg I don't think I have cried so much through a book. Karen Badger is the queen of romance. All I can say is I want to find love like Jordan and Maggie. I loved the how the author takes you from the present to the past. Every book I read of from this author the morning I am really inspired by her. I definitely recommend this book.

Wow! Not only that the story is fascinating, it was written nicely. One of my favorite books, this must be in a movie!

In 2105, Dr. Jordan Lewis teaches and is also part of a team that is researching on a device that will eventually let her regain mobility as she is paralyzed from the waist down.  While renovating her home, she comes across diaries from a young woman who died in an accident that was similar to Jordan's more than a hundred years ago.   The young woman begins to haunt Jordan's dreams and Jordan thinks that Maggie is trying to contact her.

It was a little hard to get into this book at first but it slowly picked up and eventually proved to be an interesting read.  I don't know much about the science side of things and whether or not the devices (both time machine and the restoration of mobility) is plausible so I was none the wiser.

I wish there were more scenes between Jordan and Maggie as I felt their romance was a little rushed given their time frame.  I did think that Jordan tossed around the word love too early on many different occasions.

Yesterday once more is pretty well written, but the way the disability theme is covered leaves me feeling very uncomfortable. It is very much using the tragedy model of disability and uses language that has been considered unacceptable by disabled people for a long time now. Yes, an injury or illness that leads to needing to use a wheelchair is challenging and hard to get used to, but a wheelchair usually gives someone their life back, not take it away as the author asserts.

I did find myself wanting to read more to find out how the story ended. I enjoyed the relationship dynamics, both the romantic and platonic. This isn't hard sci-fi so I didn't expect the physics to be accurate, it's believable enough for a romance. I also enjoyed having a STEM protaganist.

I never thought of myself as liking futuristic fiction but when it is intertwined with an engaging story I found myself really enjoying it. The book is set in the future but does revert back to the past. The character development is rich with underlying issues that make the story even better. I loved the interaction Jordan had with Kale; rarely are lesbians allowed to have a male best friend that is straight and not gay. My favorite part had to be the ending and I dare anyone that reads it not to shed a tear.

Besides the fact that the author has no knowledge of physics (black holes have extreme high gravitation instead of none, centrifugal force occurs only in the rotating object itself, etc.), the story was more interesting than I thought.
