This is an entire book that I paid used book money for not realizing it's a thin little hardback (4"x5" or so). The story was good, but very spare which is what impressed me about the other book I read by Marlowe. A young detective solves a crime with some luck. I feel pretty ripped off, but I hate to take it out on the story, but 2 more of the books I bought were the same: Comeback & The Devlin Affair. Beware of "Fastback Mysteries"!

I did manage to buy one decent paperback by Marlowe, Never Live Twice & I'll read it next.
