Nafziger and Symeonides (both of Willamette U. College of Law) present a collection of 54 essays that, in their treatments of issues of comparative private international law, are meant to honor the scholarly contributions of von Mehren (emeritus, law, Harvard U.), both by examining his work directly and by expanding upon conceptual issues he raised. The papers are organized into sections devoted to jurisdiction and judgment recognition, choice of law, international arbitration, and comparative and European law. A handful of the papers are presented in French, but the majority of the papers are in English. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
