Antonio Piñero Sáenz (1941-) es catedrático de Filología Griega en la UCM, especializado en "Lengua y literatura del cristianismo primitivo".

Es autor e escritor de numerosas obras en el ámbito del cristianismo y judaísmo. Junto a su prestigio internacional como investigador, destaca su faceta de comunicador, atestiguada por millones de personas.

En sus escritos, así como en sus intervenciones en televisión y radio, su determinación, dinamismo, y sobre todo la pasión que transmite, otorgan un fluir único a su mensaje.

This book brings a new version of Jesus, the one seen through the eyes of those who had access to the apocryphal gospels. The picture of the hero it conveys is one of magic and power, a certain stubbornness and pride in his childhood substituted by extreme wisdom in his short adult life. There were some very interesting facts mentioned in this book but there were also stories in which I couldn’t really recognize the Jesus I grew up with. It was as if we were talking about a totally different religion.
In the end came the disappointment! The author spends the last chapter describing the concepts of gnosis and stating that Jesus was a gnostic master and basically taught gnosis to his apostles. He reduced Jesus to his beliefs. It went against the scientific research vibe he tried to carry on throughout the book. Sad, really!
