Fifteen-year-old Jonas Hartley shouldn’t be having nightmares anymore, but that doesn’t stop them from coming. Every night, the dreams get worse—until he meets the Reality Dreamers.

Normally, Jonas would avoid this strange trio of teenagers, but when he realizes one of them is a mysterious girl he’s seen in reality, he decides to stick around for a while, curious about what they’re doing in his dreams.

But curiosity isn’t always harmless.

The Reality Dreamers are hunted by dark beings called Entities, products of a dark world with many secrets. Too late, Jonas realizes he may have gotten himself into something much larger and much darker than he ever could have imagined...

"Reality Dreamers" is a story that had me intrigued from the first page. I found myself laughing at the sarcastic humor, smiling at the heartwarming scenes, and on the edge of my seat during the suspenseful moments. Reality and the dream world were both interesting realms to be in, which meant the book always had my attention. I'm anxious for the sequel so I can keep exploring the exciting world(s) this author has created!

Jonas is a teenager who struggles to make friends. He also struggles with nightmares, something he believes makes him feel childish and different from his peers. He just doesn't realize how different he is--or the fact that he is not as alone as he fears. As he begins to talk with other teenagers who also share the intense dreams, Jonas begins to make friends. (Leah is a gem of a character! Trust me, you're going to love her.) This new group of friends are pulled closer together as the danger in the dreams escalates, some of it spilling over into reality. The ending will make you anxious for more. I'm excited to see where these characters go, and to get some answers!

So when I first saw this book, I was definitely getting a strong Leven Thumps vibe. I loved those books as a kid and so I wanted to give this one a shot too. I'm not usually a fan of YA, but I actually enjoyed this one. It was creative and short and sweet. My favorite thing was the relationship between Leah and Jonas and Ellie. The whole thing gave me a bit of an Erica, Steve, Robin and Dustin - from Stranger Things - feel which was quite great.

I can tell the plot is gonna get way complex in the next books and I'm excited to continue on the adventures. I mean, the ending of this one was both unexpected and yet satisfying. Towards the end, I was getting nervous about how many pages were remaining and how many questions I still had, but I think it wrapped up just I like I would have wanted.

My only complaints are about how different and yet not different the "world" is that Jonas lives in. Sometimes is obvious that it's happening in regular, modern, USA life, and sometimes things pop up that make me confused as to the real setting of the story. Thankfully the book explains this later on, but it did kinda bug me for a while.

Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone needing an adventure.

I read this book a while ago, but I really loved it! I love the concept of being able to go to sleep in one world/reality and wake up in another.

I appreciated how the main characters are teenagers and actually act like teenagers. I feel that too many YA novels try to make their teens act too much like grown adults. The plot and characters are interesting without trashy language or sexual themes.

All in all, this is an enjoyable read for all ages, especially readers in their early to mid-teens. I believe that it is a good introductory book for young readers who want to get into fantasy and sci-fi books, as the fantastical concepts are easy to understand but interesting.

This book surprised me! Which is a good thing. I usually can guess pretty well where and author is going with a story, but this one totally blindsided me. The character Jonas is a pretty typical teenager with some pretty crazy dreams. What I really loved about this book was the characters relationships with each other. Especially Jonas's relationship with his little sister Ellie. K.M. Frost captured a typical sibling relationship perfectly. This was a very good read.
