An elementary and up guide to farm tools and what they are used for. Clean and easy to follow.

This nonfiction title explains tools used on a farm including a plow, hoe, horse brush, wheelbarrow, pitchfork, rake, shovel, and shears. Two short sentences describe each tool and a large photo of each tool is provided. The photos of the tools frequently just show the head of the tool and not the entire handle and in the shears photo, it's difficult to see the tool since it's hidden in the sheep's wool. All of the tools show the tools being used on a farm. This book would work well with lower level readers because of the large, bold print, brief sentences, and the simple grammar structure. The table of contents, glossary, and index are additional aids. The ABDO Kids Code leads to a video and a list of tools in black and white, but they are for a much more advanced child.
