What kind of numpty rates a paper dictionary poorly because it's a paper dictionary? It has no bearing on the lexicography in it.

Not only is this dictionary better than many digital dictionaries, *you can get it in digital form*. (Actually, you've been able to do since the early 00's, afaik, in denshijisho. Though I'd suggest the app or an epwing/mdict file with a dictionary app like goldendict over that).

'Tis an excellent dictionary with a plethora of words, all with pitch accent. The only downside is one of mere preference, that of the text using roman characters for the japanese words rather than hiragana.
By far the best Japanese to English paper dictionary I have come across.

Made obsolete by modern phone apps and the internet. Mines is embarrassingly old and may cripple you if you dropped it on your foot.
